in this global study abroad course. This elective offers Biology majors and non-majors an
opportunity to enrich learning through international travel led by SJC faculty members.
Students taking this course will gain first-hand experience of a foreign country’s natural and
scientific resources while at the same time immersing themselves in the culture, history,
cuisine, and tradition. The lecture component take place at SJC during the Spring semester.
The laboratory/immersion component takes place abroad during the month of June. Scientific
topics, cultural excursions, and longevity of the trip will vary depending on location. The course
