Finance Minor (SJNY Brooklyn and SJNY Long Island)

 A Minor in Finance consists of the successful completion of a minimum of 18 credits of course work with grades of C or better. The required courses would be BUS100, BUS 219 and BUS 324 with a choice of 3 electives from the following courses: BUS315, BUS 326, BUS280, BUS362 (internship in the finance field), Behavioral Finance, Real Estate Finance, ECO/BUS223, and ECO/BUS 161; The Pre-reqs to this minor include any basic Math (All accounting majors already have MAT200; all other majors have a basic math, ECO/BUS120 IF ECO/BUS223 or ECO/BUS161 is chosen as an elective. Although ACC200 is a pre-req to BUS219) Enough basic accounting is covered in BUS219 so that ACC200 is not necessary for success (as per our finance PhDs and other school finance minor comparisons) and All accounting majors are required to take ACC200.
